Their Work
Southwest Coast SPCA was established in 2012 to help protect animals from suffering across the Southwestern region of Newfoundland.
Southwest Coast SPCA strives to provide leadership in their region by creating an understanding of animal welfare issues; their volunteers work tirelessly to ensure the humane treatment of animals. They shelter dogs and cats that are in need and practice trap, neuter and release (TNR) programs for community cats while finding loving homes for their adoptable animals. During the winter months, when kittens are rarely born outside, the team at Southwest Coast switches their focus to a low-cost spay/neuter program. Through this program, they operate affordable spay and neuter clinics for community residents, many of whom are seniors or pet owners who are living on a fixed income.
SPCA International is proud to support Southwest Coast SPCA in their effort to provide valuable resources to their community and provide better welfare to the abandoned, homeless and abused animals throughout their region.
