Throughout the last few years, we have been the proud supporters of the Tanzania Animal Welfare Society (TAWESO) in Tanzania, Africa. Through veterinary supply aid donations, the organization has been able to arrange multiple desperately needed spay and neuter campaigns within their community. TAWESO strongly advocates against cruelty to animals and the importance of spay and neuter. They also have a goal of working toward the dissolution of the severe and cruel extermination methods that common to stray dogs and cats, and the soundest way of doing so is by controlling the population. SPCA International has established a strong relationship with TAWESO to help them address their needs as they treat suffering animal, combat cruelty, and implement spay and neuter campaigns.
In 2012, we were able to allocate a financial grant to TAWESO for the construction of a surgical facility for the growing number of critical cases requiring surgery due to injuries and abuse. Volunteers and community masons took action and began the construction of the sterile surgery room thanks to this SPCA International grant.
Today the building is used for many life-saving surgeries that the animals in the community desperately need and deserve.
