Their Work

Angela Cherry, after witnessing first hand the need to control the overpopulation of stray animals around the globe, founded Helping Paws Across Borders (HPAB) in 2003.  Although the non-profit group is based out of New Mexico, their reach extends far into South America and beyond.

HPAB is comprised of veterinarians and vet techs that volunteer their time year after year to provide quality medical care to poverty stricken areas for no cost. HPAB provides routine care but also major surgeries, treatment and Animal Humane Education to help improve the quality of life of animals and people.  From sea turtles to house cats, HPAB has provided medical care to 2,000+ animals and these numbers only continue to grow.

SPCA International is excited to support Helping Paws Across Borders this February with their clinics in Roatan, Honduras. These clinics will provide spay and neuter services, vaccines and education for the locals.
