Their Work
Katie’s Place Animal Shelter is a no-kill, volunteer-run animal shelter. They specialize in the care and re-homing of senior, medically compromised, and behaviorally challenged cats that would otherwise have nowhere to go. Katie’s Place believes every animal deserves a loving home, which is why they have a permanent foster program for senior cats or cats with lifelong health conditions. Under this program, the cats live with their foster families permanently, and the shelter covers the costs of their veterinary care, which often prevents these animals from finding forever homes.
Katie’s Place is also committed to managing the stray cat population. They have an extensive trap-neuter-return (TNR) program. They also offer free spay and neuter services to pet owners in need.
SPCA International applauds Katie’s Place’s commitment to the well-being of special needs cats. We are proud to have partnered with them during Mission Possible and to continue to support their ongoing work.
