Their Work

Due to a busy kitten season, The Newnan-Coweta Humane Society has been incurring a large influx of cats and kittens. Unfortunately, because of lack of space, time is running out for many of these wonderful pets and after seeing their plea for supplies on a national animal newsletter, SPCAI’s Shelter Grant Program responded. There are many Coweta families in desperate need of pet food and cat litter. Donations and cat food, kitten food, dog food, puppy food, cat litter, towels and blankets are being accepted through the donation based shelter.

SPCA International responded by quickly distributing a $1,000 grant.  We encourage you to do whatever you can to help this great shelter and the animals in their community by sending cash donations or any of the supplies listed above directly to them.  You can find their website linked below.

The all volunteer organization works directly with Animal Control by hosting weekly adoption clinics, providing spay and neuter clinics, creating an education outreach in the public schools (Pet Lover's Clubs), a senior citizen visitation program (Furry Friends), and an active Trap and Release program. In 2003, they became the leaders in establishing humane euthanasia by injection, versus the old "gas chamber" that had previously been used.
