Their Work

Oshkosh Area Humane Society (OAHS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity with a mission to extend compassionate care, offer solace to distressed animals, and foster a community that champions humane treatment for all creatures. OAHS aids 3,000 animals annually, spanning dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and rodents. They also offer various services to community members, including first responders and those experiencing domestic abuse. Oshkosh Area Humane Society is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, to provide shelter and care for animals that may be involved in life-threatening situations. Whether it is a fire, car accident, domestic abuse case, crime scene or natural disaster, OAHS staff appears on the scene, rescuing and housing animals until it is safe for them to return to their homes. OAHS is also committed to humanely reducing animal overpopulation through its Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program for community cats.

SPCA International is impressed by Oshkosh Area Humane Society’s commitment to the animals in their community. We are proud to support their work and to have them as a Shelter Support partner.
