Their Work
Paws Unite People is a non-profit organization based in New York dedicated to supporting abused and neglected animals as well as the people who love and care for them all over the world. They offer a wide range of programs that benefit both people and animals and are committed to being a resource to the community by providing assistance, training, and education. Through Luna’s House, their rehabilitation facility, they are able to shelter abused and neglected animals, train those that are appropriate to become therapy animals and provide a safe and supportive environment for adults with special needs to visit and work with the animals. They believe that animals do best when they are not confined, and so, the cats reside in a center where they are able to free-roam, while the dogs at the center have their own rooms with their own couches.
After hearing of the work being done by Paws Unite People and their commitment to helping the former veterinary staff that cared for the animals rescued in Afghanistan, SPCA International wanted to lend them a helping hand with this important mission.
