Their Work

The Pet’s Second Home animal shelter has been working to rescue and rehome animals in Latvia since 2010.

Second Home works actively to ensure that as few animals as possible appear in the streets or enter shelters. They strongly believe that this can be achieved through sterilization, microchipping and animal welfare education among the local population.

Second Home has been helping their local communities humanely and effectively manage their stray cat population through Trap-Neuter-Release campaigns since 2014. They also recently completed the construction of an open-air cat space for their long-term feline residents, which provides safe and high-quality enrichment for these animals.
