Founded in 2007 in Loquillo, Puerto Rico, Island Dog Inc. has been working non-stop to provide care to not only stray animals but to pets in low-income families.

Every year Island Dog Inc. helps 3,000 cats and dogs. In addition to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption work that Island Dog Inc. accomplishes they also provide food, medical care, vaccinations, boarding and transportation assistance to local pet owners in order to enable them to keep their pet with their family. Island Dog Inc. makes sure that every animal in their care is sterilized to help humanely decrease the stray animal population

Syrian Team for Animal Rescue

The Syrian Team for Animal Rescue (STAR) was founded in 2016 in Damascus, Syria. In just over a year STAR has helped roughly 400 animals.

STAR noticed an immense need to rescue the injured and abused stray dogs and cats in their war-torn country. With a small staff and group of volunteers, STAR is providing food, shelter and medical care to the 350 animals in their care. Once rehabilitated STAR works hard to find loving forever homes for the animals in their care.

SPCA International is proud to support STAR as they work tirelessly to provide much-needed care to the homeless animals of Syria.

Established over 16 years ago El Faro de los Animales, Inc. has been providing a safe haven to the homeless animals of Puerto Rico.

El Faro de los Animales, Inc. works hard to find permanent homes for the animals in their care, adopting out roughly 650 animals each year. Additionally, they strive to provide humane education to local communities to increase proper sterilization of animals and compassionate care.

Hurricane Maria tore through the shelter in September 2017, leaving the shelter in uninhabitable conditions. SPCA International is proud to support El Faro de los Animales, Inc. through our Disaster Relief Fund as they rebuild after the devastation wreaked by hurricane Maria.

Founded in early 2017, Furever Rescue Foster Home has been working tirelessly to bring essential care and sanctuary to the abused and neglected dogs of Cairo.

Furever Rescue Foster Home is home to over 100 dogs who have been rescued from life on the streets. Every animal in their care receives necessary medical care and lots of TLC until they find their forever homes.

White River Humane Society

Founded 40 years ago, the White River Humane Society has brought its mission to end unwanted and abandoned animals to Bedford, Indiana.

The White River Humane Society provides care to roughly 1,500 dogs and cats each year. Every animal brought into their shelter receives medical care and is spayed/neutered. White River Humane Society works tirelessly to make sure that every homeless animal brought into their care is properly prepared to find their forever home.

Tanzania Animal Welfare Charity

In Tanzania, the threat of Rabies is very real. The Tanzania Animal Welfare Charity is working hard to ensure that threat doesn’t lead to the senseless killing of animals.

The fear of rabies is ever looming in the minds of Tanzanian residents, through humane education and large-scale vaccination clinics, Tanzania Animal Welfare Charity is combating the inhumane and needless killing of dogs due caused by this fear.  Every year Tanzania Animal Welfare Charity helps roughly 3000 animals, from dogs to donkeys no animals are turned away. This shelter-based organization is able to accomplish this with only 8 volunteers and a shoestring budget.

SPCA International is honored to support the Tanzania Animal Welfare Charity as they provide essential vaccinations and humane education to the children and adults of Tanzania.

The Bark Ark

Founded just over 5 years ago in Bosnia, The Bark Ark has been working tirelessly to provide sanctuary for the strays of Prnjavor.

Every year The Bark Ark helps over 300 stray and abandoned dogs. The dogs in their care receive essential medical care and are spayed or neutered before being adopted out to the EU, UK and USA. Working with local authorities, The Bark Ark strives to promote humane treatment of strays and proper pet care as well as investigations into abuse cases and dog hunting.

Ghetto 2 Garden

Operating in the rural areas of Pedro Brand in the Dominican Republic, Ghetto 2 Garden has been a sanctuary for special-needs animals since 2008.

With the help of dedicated volunteers, the 170 animals at Ghetto 2 Garden receive medical care, shelter, food, and lots of TLC. No animal is turned away based on medical condition or age they are taken in with open arms and are able to live their lives free from abuse.

SPCA International is excited to support Ghetto 2 Garden as they care for the often-overlooked cats and dogs of the Dominican Republic.

Founded in 2008, Dharamsala Animal Rescue has been helping 1500 animals annually through their programs and community outreach.

 Dharamsala Animal Rescue is constantly working to end human death caused by rabies through humane animal control, rescue work, adoption and education. Not only do they provide care for the large stray dog population (an estimated 5000 in Dharamsala) but also to local pets and farm animals. With only 9 full time staff members Dharamsala Animal Rescue is able to spay/neuter roughly 500 animals each year.
