For over two decades, the team at Tierhilfe KOS has been committed to the street animals in Southern and Eastern Europe. They know sterilization is the best way to prevent animal suffering, so they operate various Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) programs throughout Europe. Every year, they sterilize an average of 10,000 animals. They also provide stray cats and dogs with food so they do not go hungry.

Pet Project Rescue (PPR) is a Minnesota-based, non-profit organization specializing in spay/neuter programming from Minnesota to Mexico and foster-based hospice care for terminally ill Minnesota dogs and cats rescued from local high-kill shelters. PPR’s mission is to end animal homelessness and suffering by reducing the homeless animal population at its source through our free spay/neuter clinics for animals in Minnesota and Mexico. PPR believes that all animals deserve a loving and healthy life. To fully provide for animals in need, they provide free vet care for low-income communities while striving to make Minneapolis a no-kill city!

Nile Valley Egyptian Foundation (NVE Cats) is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit, no-kill and life-enhancing cat rescue group. NVE Cats’ purpose is to rescue and advocate for the endangered native Egyptian Mau and the Nile Valley Egyptian Cats. NVE Cats diligently works to find forever homes in the U.S. for these homeless, abandoned, and abused felines rescued from the cruel streets of Egypt. They also offer permanent sanctuary to unadoptable cats.

In 2011, three retired women encountered an emaciated dog chained to a tree. They named her Fiona and rushed her to get the help she desperately needed, but despite their best efforts, Fiona did not make it. At this moment, the women decided they had to do something to change how animals in Mexico were treated. In 2013, they officially founded Fiona Animal Refuge with the mission to end animal cruelty in Hidalgo, Mexico, by educating the public and making essential resources available to all. The non-profit organization offers free spay and neuter, and vaccination services to pet parents in the community. They also provide needy street animals with essential medical care, food and shelter.

SPCA International is proud to support Fiona Animal Refuge’s life-saving work. We’re so proud of the tremendous difference they are making to the well-being of the animals in Hidalgo.

Animal Cairo Animal Rescue Foundation (ACARF) was founded in July 2020 to save the lives of Cairo’s most neglected animals. ACARF’s vision is for all animals to live free from misery and brutality. The non-profit organization is working toward a world where every companion animal has a caring, devoted, and safe forever home. ACARF provides medicine, food, shelter, and emergency vet care to needy animals, particularly in low-income communities. ACARF practices TNR (trap, neuter, and release) to address Cairo’s overpopulation of stray animals. To create long-lasting change, ACARF places a lot of focus on educating the public about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.

They rescue farmed, abused, and neglected animals and give them care and sanctuary. Their animal residents are given lifelong homes and are treated with respect as individuals. By giving farmed animals a chance to live with dignity and sharing their stories, they advocate for reducing suffering for all. Tumbleweed Farm Sanctuary hopes to raise awareness about the plight of animals raised for food and advocate on their behalf by educating the public.

Todd’s Welfare Society (TWS) was established in 2016 to promote animal welfare in Pakistan. They help rescue, treat and rehabilitate the most injured, sick and abused animals by providing them with the necessary care to alleviate their pain and suffering. Once appropriate, they place the animals in their care into loving, permanent homes.

TWS’s goal is to foster an animal-friendly community; a society where stray animals are not killed; where every animal and pet is treated kindly; with respect and compassion, and where every companion animal is spayed and neutered. To accomplish this goal, they raise much-needed awareness and education amongst the general public to help eliminate animal abuse and cruelty in Pakistan.

Pawprints to Freedom is a volunteer-run, non-profit rescue organization dedicated to preventing the suffering of dogs. They operate primarily in Romania, saving dogs from kill shelters and other horrific situations before finding them forever homes in the U.K. Since its inception in 2017, Pawprints to Freedom has grown become a team of over 100 volunteers, running four kennels. They have rehomed thousands of dogs into loving homes, saving many lives. As part of their mission to prevent animals’ suffering, they focus significantly on spay/neuter campaigns and educational visits.

Paw Patrol Cambodia

Paw Patrol Cambodia was founded in 2017 and is the only registered animal welfare non-profit organization in the region. Their mission is to provide food and medicine to stray cats and dogs in and around Siem Reap. Dedicated to preventing the increase of street, free-roaming dogs and cats, their efforts primarily focus on spaying and neutering. To ensure the safety of animals and people in the community, they also administer rabies vaccines whenever possible.

Recently we’ve partnered with Paw Patrol Cambodia to host a special sterilization event in honor of Spay & Neuter Awareness Month. The event will enable the sterilization, vaccination, and microchipping of 400 cats and dogs. SPCA International is proud to be sponsoring this important project and supporting Paw Patrol Cambodia’s continued efforts to care for the animals in Siem Reap.

Asociación Protectora de Animales de la Calle (APAC) is a shelter in Juarez, Mexico, with the mission to rescue and house stray dogs in the community. They provide hundreds of stray dogs with a safe home every year until loving families adopt them. The Asociación Protectora de Animales de la Calle team believes spaying/neutering is vital to the well-being of the animals and people in the community, so many of their efforts are focused on mass sterilization campaigns targetting street dogs. They also offer free and low-cost sterilization services to low-income pet owners in the community.
