Operation Freedom Paws Canada (OFPC) empowers veterans and individuals with disabilities to restore their freedom by teaching them to train rescue dogs that will later be certified as their own service dog. Through a special therapeutic canine-human relationship, all veterans and individuals with disabilities live an enriched life and engage with their communities.

OFPC recently took in six dogs from Mission Possible and will help match these special dogs with a person with PTSD, MST, TBI, and other psychological conditions. They will train for a minimum of 48 weeks as a team and be a certified service dog team. Three dogs have already been matched and are doing incredible with their person.

We are honored to support the work of OFPC and to OFPC working with the Mission Possible dogs.

Every year, PAWS rescues and sterilizes hundreds of cats and dogs. To make sterilization services accessible and affordable, this all-volunteer team partners with local veterinarians to offer low-cost spay-neuter services to pet owners in the community. They also promote animal welfare education in both classrooms and the community and are at the front lines advocating for new laws against animal mistreatment and abuse.

SPCA International recognizes the outstanding work that PAWS is accomplishing to care for the animals in Costa Rica. We are proud to support their efforts to expand their trap-neuter-release (TNR) campaigns to control the stray animal population in the area and improve the overall well-being of animals.

Their Work

Tahira Animal Welfare Foundation is a charity working for the welfare of stray animals living in stressful conditions within Pakistan. The leading cause of their misery is the overpopulation of homeless animals. TAWF is working to overcome the root cause. Their main goal is to control the population of stray animals and eliminate rabies in the area through the sterilization and vaccination of stray dogs.

TAWF has also built an advanced animal shelter and hospital equipped with advanced X-rays, Ultrasound, and other critical medical equipment. There is no other animal shelter within 100 miles.

TAWF believes that animal welfare education and awareness are the most important steps towards creating a more empathetic and compassionate environment for animals, which is why they hold awareness camps in schools. In these awareness camps, they educate students about animal rights and the current animal abuse taking place in society. They believe educating new generations will allow children to have their own beliefs and tackle historic negative views about strays.

After hearing of the incredible work TAWF is doing, SPCA International wanted to lend them a helping hand so that they could expand their spay/neuter services and help more animals and people in need.
